Questions frequently asked about care and support.

Do you provide free consultations before we decide on a home care professional?

A needs assessment or consultation is completely free and can help to give you and your loved one a clearer insight into the sort of help you or your loved one may require.

Are your care workers trained professionals?

Our care workers are trained professionals.

Care workers of all types have a big responsibility to provide ethical, high-quality care to service users. Service users in need of care are vulnerable and rely on and trust the care workers who assist and support them. Providing good quality care starts with the appropriate education and training. Our care workers also continue training indefinitely, participating in ongoing professional development and educative courses to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.

Why is home care good for my family?

Time spent with your loved ones in their old age should be fun, not challenging. We spend our time taking care of the essentials, so you can spend time doing the things you enjoy most. Choosing a high quality, trusted home care provider removes a great deal of the stress surrounding long term decision making for your loved ones and time after time, home care is the least expensive arrangement compared to care delivered in a residential setting.

Why is home care good for me?

It’s flexible, it’s hassle-free and it’s enjoyable.. You’ll get to stay in your community and live under your own roof, surrounded by your own things and continue to live by your own rules. One of the best things about what we do is that it doesn’t ‘feel like care’. Or at least, it doesn’t feel like what many people think care feels like. Although our care workers are professional and highly trained, they carry out their duties appearing just like a friend or companion.

How do I arrange a care service with Essence Care?

You can call the office on 07918573521 or Email for a care assessment.

What tasks will my care worker carry out?

We agree a ‘Care Plan’ which details exactly what you have instructed us to do. This then becomes the work list for each day. As part of our ongoing and unique relationship with pharmacies, we are also able to assist/order and administer your medication.

Care plans frequently evolve, and we check regularly to ensure that the care we are providing is appropriate.

Will I have the same care assistant each day?

At Essence Care Services Limited we pride ourselves on our clients having regular carers. There are some circumstances where your regular carer is away on holiday or sickness, but there will always be a carer that you have already met, and know your needs.

This depends on how many care visits you have each week. We very rarely have just one care worker assigned to a particular customer. This allows for periods of time where your care worker may be away on holiday, however we do try to keep the number of your care workers to an absolute minimum.

What about my personal security?

Every member of the Essence Care team has been through a rigorous vetting procedure before they start working with us. In addition, all staff will always be in uniform and carry a personalised identification card which shows their name, photograph and ID number.

What is Non-medical Care?

Essence Care Services Limited provides non-medical care which means anything that doesn’t involve nursing intervention, such as administering injections, changing wound dressings, and taking vital sign measurements.

What happens when the office is closed?

Our offices are normally open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Aside from this, we operate an out-of-hours emergency service which is manned from 7am to 11pm. The number for our out of hours service will be provided for your reassurance, with someone at the end of the telephone line to assist with any emergencies about your care. The out of hours number is the same as the office number.

When is my payment due?

Within 7 days after invoice date.

How do I pay for my care?

We will send you a bill once a fortnight. If you wish to pay by standing order (to save you having to remember to write out a cheque) just let us know as well as a bank transfer.
